Max's All Stars improve to 2-1 at West 4th

Yesterday, Max's All Stars got the win at Kenny Graham's West Fourth Street vs TNP by a final score of 80-76. Bediako NyasaBryant Crowder, Corey Orgias, Damion Staple, Malik Reddick, Patrick James and Spencer Smith put forth an impressive effort against the defending Nike Pro City champions. Max's All Stars was shorthanded and some of the players were tired from playing in the ABC Hoops semifinals/championship game doubleheader earlier. It was a back and forth seesaw battle between the two teams. Nobody could get much separation on the scoreboard - neither team had a lead of more than five points. Bryant Crowder had an electrifying performance, carrying the offense while also pulling down a bunch of rebounds and blocking several shots. Corey, Damion, PJ and Spencer played the bulk of the game with Bryant. Corey and Spencer took turns bringing the ball up and both hit some very clutch shots. Damion and PJ did a great job defensively. In fact, Damion came up with two huge breakaway steals that he took to the house himself. Also, Bediako Nyasa played a few minutes and scored seven points including a half-court buzzer beating 3-pointer to give Max's All Stars the lead at halftime (40-37). Late in the fourth quarter, Corey hit a shot to make the score 80-76 with 1:50 remaining and instantly after his shot went in it started raining cats and dogs! So, the game was called with 1:50 remaining, Max's All Stars got the win and improved their record to 2-1.
