Max's All Stars suffer heartbreaking one-point loss at Heart For The Game; fall to 1-1

Max's All Stars lost at Heart For The Game vs the BX Heavy Hitters by a final score of 30-29. Coached by Corey Orgias, our players (Elian Davis, Karl Charles, Keshaun Cameron, Keone Billey, Rameik Golden, Savdeep Gill, Sean Eustace and Travis Sukhdevsingh) all played hard. They got off to a solid start, going up 10-0 before things began to fall apart. Missed free throws was a huge factor in the loss along with other miscues such as failing to convert opportunities in transition, blown layups and some turnovers in crucial moments. Despite all these negative things, there were some positives. Max's All Stars started off strong and battled back from a second half deficit to take the lead late in the game. Unfortunately, our young team could not seal the deal down the stretch. Hopefully, this loss serves as a valuable learning experience and motivation for the rest of the summer.

Max's All Stars struggle in unexpected doubleheader at Foster Park; fall to 1-2

Yesterday, Max's All Stars played an unexpected doubleheader in the Foster Park Sports Youth Basketball League Senior Division. In the first game, Max's All Stars lost by a final score of 62-51. Elian Davis, Justin Cardenas, Karl Charles, Keone Billey, Keshaun Cameron, Malek Graham, Marco Bazile, Rameik Golden, Savdeep Gill and Travis Sukdevsingh played hard, but little mistakes here and there prevented them from securing the win. After the game was over, the league asked if Max's All Stars could fill-in for another team that did not show up. Our coaches (Corey Orgias, Jermaine Lewis and Patrick James) asked the players if they wanted to play another game and they were very enthusiastic about it - they wanted to go again! Unfortunately, the kids were tired and played against a team that was somewhat older, bigger and more experienced. Max's All Stars fought hard, but dropped the second game by a final score of 54-36. Overall, this was a valuable learning experience for the Max's All Stars Youth Basketball Program and hopefully, it will serve as motivation for the rest of the summer.

Max's All Stars win their first game at Foster Park

Yesterday, Max's All Stars won their first game in the Summer 2016 Foster Park Sports Youth Basketball League Senior Division by a final score of 41-27. Our coaches, Corey Orgias and Patrick James, did a great job preparing the team and leading them to victory. They both agreed that it was one of our best performances to this point. Elian Davis, Justin Cardenas, Karl Charles, Keone Billey, Keshaun Cameron, Malek Graham, Marco Bazile, Rameik Golden and Travis Sukdevsingh all contributed, worked together and played hard to earn the win. Also, Savdeep Gill did not play due to injury but was vocal at the game - helping the coaches and supporting his teammates. It was an all-around team effort that resulted in a big W for Max's All Stars.
