Immediately following the Spring 2007 semester, Margulis made an offer to Anthony "Bogut" Vitolo, who accepted on September 11th, 2007. That very night at the Recreation Center, following the announcement of Vitolo joining Max's Auerbachers (along with Ohimor and Leavitt already on the roster) Jose Amor and Ethan Ruda agreed to return while Gary Chiang and Mike Shtifter were also added. Through Chiang's connections, Ian Van Doren and freshman forward, Fernando Signorelli, were also added to what became a crowded, but extremely talent roster. Kaheem Evans also returned to the team and appeared in a few games.
Max's Auerbachers finished 5-2 overall, with both losses coming against the eventual champions, United Nations. However, the team did end a long winning streak for the defending champion, Yung Gunz, in the semi-finals en route to reaching the championship game for the first time at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
