Max's All Stars won their first game of 2014, claiming victory in their Showcase NYC Winter Classic season opener against Remedy Raiders by a final score of 56-47. Carl Gibson coached a short-handed lineup of only six players, but they battled for the important W. Here are the statistics (courtesy of the league):

Melvin Calhoun (making his debut) - 5 points/1 rebound/2 assists
Troy Whittington - 25 points/5 rebounds
Overall, this is a good team win and a nice start to the season for Max's All Stars.
